Asian Tigers Taiwan says its operations are continuing to run despite the country being hit by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in the early hours of April 3.
According to the company, at least nine deaths and 800 injuries have been reported on the island as a result, accompanied by landslides, and damage to buildings, roads, and public transport networks, especially along the country’s east coast.
‘Despite this natural disaster, Asian Tigers Taiwan’s office, warehouse and staff remain safe and continue to operate as usual during this time,’ it said in an update. ‘Taiwan has public holidays on April 4 and 5, but our team will resume work as usual on April 8.
The earthquake struck off the coast of Hualien City and was the largest the country has seen in the past 25 years. Lower magnitude aftershocks have continued to impact the island since the first event.
