MSC Mediterranean Shipping Co has stopped calling at the Port of Djibouti in response to new attacks and ongoing unrest in the Gulf of Aden.
The shipping line made the announcement ‘with immediate effect’ from the end of June, stating that all Djibouti-bound containers already at sea or in transhipment would be transported by third-party companies.
AGS, which is active in the region, said it was working to confirm to clients revised ETAs of affected shipments. Anyone with queries about specific shipments should direct them to local AGS partners, it said.
