The Managing Director of Asian Tigers Indonesia has called for the relocation industry to step up monitoring of its technology, after the company’s Microsoft 365 account was accessed by ‘an unauthorised party’.
In an update email to customers, Bill Lloyd said ‘With the increasing frequency of Microsoft 365 account compromises, we encourage vigilance across the industry’, adding cybersecurity and protecting communication channels and data was a ‘top priority’ for Asian Tigers Indonesia.
The update said that the February breach was caused by a weak passport set by an external vendor and was quickly mitigated by the migration of email services to Google Workspace, resetting employee passwords, and the implementation of additional security measures, including two-factor authentication for all email accounts and tighter vendor access to company systems.
Lloyd said that Asian Tigers Indonesia email addresses remained the same and that any partners with concerns should contact the company directly.
